Who Are We?
We are ICEBERG, an independent science news and communication website run by volunteers and writers who have spent time in the lab as researchers. We focus on basic science research and research that is not broadly distributed outside of the scientific community, their specific field, or geographic location/institution. You may not have heard about the experiments or projects we talk about, and that is what we are hoping to change.
What Do Our Articles Look Like?
Each piece is written by one of our scientists. It will include two sections. First, “The Gist of It” will focus on the overall impact of the research and why it is an important study. Second, “The Nitty Gritty” will focus on more of the scientific detail of the experiments and include some more information beyond what would be generally included in an overall view of the work. For each piece, we will include a citation of the original research article, and link to it online.
Want to Get Involved?
We are always looking to expand and would love to have writers outside of the biomedical fields. Please contact us if you would be interested in writing.
